ARM LIFT SURGERY UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA
Arm lift (brachiplasty) is indicated when the patient has loose, excessive skin (with or without excess fat) of the arms. Liposuction alone will not be able to correct the skin laxity, and may even make the skin looseness worse by removing “structure” from the skin.
Brachiplasty (arm lift surgery) can be done under local anesthesia, resulting in faster recovery and lower cost. As someone who has experienced both general anesthesia and oral sedation/local anesthesia, I can say with confidence the recovery from local anesthesia is almost immediate, whereas the grogginess and weakness of general anesthesia can last several days.
The video included shows arm lift surgery under local anesthesia. The post-op photo is only one week after surgery and the incision will improve with time.
