Accessory breast tissue occurs when the mammary ridge fails to completely resolve, leaving accessory breast tissue.
The axilla is the most common location for formation of accessory breast tissue, and the tissue becomes enlarged and can be painful during menstrual period, just like normal breast tissue.
This patient had excision of axillary breast tissue and the result is one month after surgery. The incision will continue to fade and will be hidden in the axilla.
